SPF is your Friend

There are MANY reasons why SPF is a good idea. Here are just a few:

Wow that is sexy! See, pale gurls don’t have to worry about being this wrinkled at 35!

Oh, the family that overly tans together, stays together…oh wait, that’s not right. Families that overly tan together just break up and then get melanoma.

Today even the palest of pale gurls can appear tan. Spray tans are the new “pretend” tan for the uv-impaired; however, all of these spray tan companies have yet to perfect the color. Most spray tans often give you a case of orangeitious a la Lindsay Lohan style -

Tanorexia from a bottle can be almost as dangerous as from the sun.

Pale Gurls should beware of trying to switch to the darkER side…you don’t want to end up looking like tall glass of Sunkist Orange.

Everyone is always talking about people being TOO PALE, but there is a such thing as being too tan:

too-tan-2

Now that’s some tanned skin.

too-tan-3

Bronzed to the MAX!

too-tan-4

See the Pales and the Tans can get along and co-exist, but a little SPF goes a long way in this friendship. Friends don’t let friends go out without SPF!

too tan

You know it’s a problem when your chest hair looks like crispy bacon.  Diagnosis = TOO TAN!

tans and pales coexist

More proof that the Tans and the Pales can coexist in harmony. Don’t get it twisted…orange is not the new tan.

whoa

“Trying too hard?” More like giving up and not trying at all. Come on girl, SPF wants to start an immediate and intimate relationship with you. I mean, you’re only 21 years old and you could pass as my gran!

Tiger Woods likes em TAN!!!!!

Ladies, ladies, ladies…Maybe you wouldn’t be so slutty if you spent more time developing morals and integrity and less time tanning and pro-hoeing around. Just saying.

Oh my! Thanks for those pics–It really should motivate people to use sunscreen once they see these and especially once they develop skin cancer.
I found your blog just surfing and I also write for the UV Skinz blog (http://blog.uvskinz.com) and would love it if you would consider being a guest blogger sometime. For the month of May (Skin Cancer Awareness Month) I have had 2 guest bloggers talk about their experience surviving skin cancer, but you can write about anything sun protection related. Or anti-tanning related…
I think your posts are funny and interesting. It would be fun to work with you and you would definitely get lots of linky love!
You can email me at kalisha@uvskinz.com if you are interested.
    Thanks! Kalisha

    I. Love. You.. and your blog.

I have always been, “ridiculed” for lack of a better word, for my porcelain skin. I always said “I think it’s pretty” and didn’t care. This was until people like the celebrities you’ve mentioned on your page started to brighten up the red carpet. Then I’d get compliments on the same porcelain skin people used to tell me cover up.

In fact, I’ve long since been looking for a way to not exactly make my skin more pale, but just more even. Naturally my face and forearms are a few shades darker than my beautiful legs. Does Pale Gurl have any advice?

Thank you for all those pics! and this whole blog, I love this website. I have a very fare, porcielan skin tone, and in my perspective..flawless, but im ALWAYS getting picked on and made fun of at my school for being pale. Also live in Florida so theres tan people every where you look. I think I look beautiful in shorts, but im too scared to wear them at school because of what the other kids at school are going to say about my legs:( theres probly only about 5% pale people at my school..the other 95%.. TAN! and im always trying to prove orange burnt skin is NOT pretty.. but my words never get through to people. So im glad there is now a website with a group of people that understands me, and actually knows what true beauty is. Thank you! & much love – Danni

My GOD, I choked on my candycane when I saw those pictures. Those women look african american nearly! I myself am extremely pale. Like I can hold up a piece of paper, and compare my skin to it and its only like 2 shades darker. BUT, I think that my skin color makes me who I am, just because I’m not ‘tan’ that shouldn’t effect my life. And years ago I was fixated with being tan, I sat outside without sunblock for a week until I burned like a piece of freaking bacon. I was in so much pain, my skin was the color of a tomatoe, and lotion wasn’t stopping the peeling. Well lets just say, that fixed me! I’m proud of my pale skin, and also, some of those pictures make me ill. Merry Christmas!

so glad to see there are others out there proud of their beautiful pale skin like me. i have the ability to tan(lots of native american from both sides) but i choose not too because i love my white skin. there are others out there a lot paler than i am but after about 4 year i finally have no tan lines!! So many out there don’t know the importance of sunscreen and its really sad. I just had a mole removed that was showing sever signs of developing into melanoma and coming that close to way to close for comfort. Be proud of your skin!!

I enjoy a (light) tan. I love the feeling of sun on my skin in summer.
But I wouldn’t be judging people based on how tanned or pale they are.
I like your blog…minus the incessant ragging on tans…

I think it’s great that people are finally getting together and talking about their issues with bullying etc. People always hear about the African American kid being picked on for their skin colour, but never the pale kids being picked on. I’m half English, half Irish so I’m naturally as pale as they come, no dark skin in the family anywhere, even if you go back centuries, so I never tan. I have tried so many tricks in the past, going on holiday, using tanning oils and NOTHING works, but I still get people saying “You need to get out in the sun!” You’d never say to a black person “you need to stay inside more! you’re WAY too dark!” so why is it okay to say that sort of thing to pale people?
