Who is Pale Gurl?

Just a girl with pasty skin and a “look at me” mentality.

Who needs pigment, really?

They say pale is the new tan, but I say that tan is the new childhood obesity.

This site is just for laughs and tears, but nothing in between.

No moral compass here. Just a need to read (Okay that was lame, but so is your dad).

See,  pasty people can do more than just rule the British Monarchy.

Please enjoy my posts and share with your friends. Even if they are illegal.

Keep it real. Real SPF’d up!

***This site is meant exists to appreciate the untan and should not be taken literally. Please have a sense of humor before reading. It’s just jokes.***

Thank you for visiting.

I’m about to put your article about forwards on the chain letter wiki, and decided to look at your “About me”. Personally, I think people are far too stuck on appearances, period. If you’re pale, they call you ‘pasty’ and if you’re dark, they nickname you after food items as if you were something to eat/drink, or as if they were talking about the fur on an animal ‘chocolate’ ‘coffee colored’ etc. Argh, honestly! You’d think in this civilized age, people would get over it, grow up, and pay attention to personality and forget about looks unless they are trying to well, be clean and presentable to go out in public. Keeping up an acceptable appearance, and being shallow are two completely different things, and I have absolutely zero tolerance for the latter. This includes drippy fangirls who fall in love – excuse me – lust – with some fictional character who would sooner drink their blood for night lunch as look at them if they were for real. And all because the character in question looks soooo incredibly hot, apparently. *Cough cough.*

This is a humor blog. Not to be taken literally. Thank you. It only took me 3 years to reply :)

I was scarred for life when, aged 8, my mum’s friend nearly fell off her chair laughing when I got into my bathing suit because my legs were so white! I too am in constant pursuit of a tan. I think you need to start a pale gurl movement!

    • cubejungle / Dec 15 2009 5:43 pm

The Pale Gurl Movement has begun :) Thank you for visiting. Come back all the time!~ Pale gurl pride.

Last year I went to a beach in Michigan. On that trip I learned, 1. I am lighter than white sand, and 2. I look like a florescent lightbulb. I glowed, not the sexy tan glow, but the holy crap is today the first day she’s ever been outside and why does her skin look whiter than my sheets?! In the end best experience ever, I got a lot of people eyeing me that day ;).

Porcelain, vampire, translucent, pale, fair-skinned, ginger, albino, and pasty are a few of the names used to reference me and my skin.

But, luckily for us pale skinned girls, our skin will look awesome when we get older. We won’t have that nastily leathery wrinkly skin that all the girls my age who go tanning will have. Unfortunately, I have many more years to get to that point.

    Pale Gurl~

I love that you have a whole blog about this. I’m a fellow pale girl, and believe strongly in being yourself…whether you’re white, yellow, brown, or black.

Have written a few posts related to the topic of paleness or anti-tanning…hope you’ll stop by…or feature here:

Omg, I can’t agree with you more! I majorly feel your pain and feel soooo annoyed when people say stupid s*** like your examples, especially “I’d just DIE if I couldn’t get tan”. Those f****** tan a*******. Rock on Pale Girl, Rock on!

    • cubejungle / Dec 15 2009 5:42 pm

Andrea, you feel me girl :) We are kindred pale spirits.

    • Pamela / Dec 14 2010 11:13 pm

The thing that makes me laugh about the “I’d just DIE if I couldn’t get a tan” comment people make is that their tans are what is going to kill them! SPF people!!!

What a great blog! I love it. I have been made fun of all my life for my fair skin- people have asked me if I am albino! That’s my favorite.
My Mom is almost 60 and she looks 20 years younger because she has always been careful in the sun and wears sunscreen everyday. She is good inspiration.
    Keep up the good work!

Pale Gurl Pride! Thank you for your comment, Kathleen.

While I appreciate pale skin. I don’t appreciate the spelling of girl as ‘gurl.’

    • cubejungle / Mar 19 2010 3:40 pm

The appropriate spelling of pale girl was already being used on wordpress so I had to go with gurl, but thank you for your input. kind of.

Love your style. I just turned 30 this year and am on a similar page. Glad to see my 20′s go and also understand that 30 is really the new 20, or at least that seems to be how most of my friends are. Anyhow, really like the blog and your humor. I just added it to my Google Reader. If you need another Facebook friend to pretend to care, feel free to friend me up ;) Thanks again! Keep it up.

I love you! I am amazingly pale, and loving it, I love my skin, but get made fun of all the time! I’m so glad I stubbled along your blog!

  12. The Healthy Apron / May 13 2010 2:44 pm

ha, I found your site while I was googling for pictures of people who are too tan! I am trying to start a movement for pale “gurls” too!! SPF people!! It’s 2010 already!! We know the risks!

  13. Neil / Jun 12 2010 9:14 pm

I much prefer pale girls, tanning looks weird to me – possibly cos the UK has really sunny weather only for 3 days a year.
Found you by accident (searching Google images for “facebook pictures”) but will keep looking in as you are really funny and reading your posts have allowed me to avoid the World cup for 1 day at least! ;)

  14. Michelle / Jun 15 2010 2:11 pm

I found your website while trying to prove to a friend that some people (like me), no matter how often they are in the sun, won’t tan. I’m in my 40s and still explaining to people that I’m not unhealthy or defective, but I can’t tan (aghast)! My only advice to younger, pale people, is wear sunscreen. My very tanned aunts were convinced they could get some color on me when I was younger and I got burned me to a crisp multiple times (sunscreen wasn’t as widely used in the 70s). I’m suffering now from age spots. Luckily, I grew up, realized the importance of sunscreen and am often mistaken for being 10 years younger.
